whew

So I got up bright and early to go to court for the tickets I got the night before my finance exam last month. I had gotten pulled over for turning left when the left turn signal was red. I didn't see it, as I was focused on the all-nighter I had ahead of me, so I had no idea why I was being pulled over. I had also forgotten to get my car inspected though it was due in November, so that added another $30 offense to the $100 (!!!) traffic light violation and $61 in court fees.

Fortunately, because I got inspected the next day and it was close to the due date, the judge (who was a less fierce and much friendlier version of Judge Judy) dropped that charge. Also, since the officer said I told him I didn't see the light and I confirmed that, she dropped the light violation to $50 plus fees, so in all I paid $111, which is $80 less than I was going to pay.

Whew.
